Three short years ago I moved my family to Walsh Ranch from Tarrant County into Parker County. Upon moving into Parker County, I became increasingly aware for the need to get involved politically to make a better change for my neighborhood and the Parker County Democrats.
Slowly I met with other Democrats in the community and the county, to my surprise, there were many Democrats, but most Democrats were not interested or fearful of getting involved.
I was asked by our Democratic County Chair, Kay Parr if I would run for Precinct Chair 415 (now precinct 455) and keep this precinct informed of Election Day information and Democrat topics and points of interest.
Together with my new Democratic leaders I determined what the needs of our community were necessary and being in a developing community of Walsh and MorningStar that challenge was quite different from other precincts. I faced the challenge of getting to know my community by block walking and knocking on doors to introduce myself. I learned key factors, lack of information on upcoming elections, need for communication, register new residents with a change of address. This door knocking gave me the opportunity to not only meet our neighbors but to put a name to a face in my community. Together with my wife, we provide sample ballots, Democratic candidate information and voter registration opportunities at both Walsh and MorningStar.
My goal is to meet all new residents and help them get the information they need to make an informed election decision.
I appreciate input from our Precinct residents to improve resident’s lives and election results.
Voting is your Superpower! Get registered and get involved by VOTING at each election. Remember local elections are very important for local governing for the needs of the resident’s everyday needs.
Currently, I am working with Fort Worth City Councilman Michael Crain to improve the community. I have spoken to him about having an ambulance stationed closer to us and many other issues.
